Street Lawyer-Done

I spent 5 hours this week and finished the street lawyer. It was a very good book. The main character, Michael decides to leave his law firm and go and work with Mordeceai. They are lawyers who help the poor. They are trying to help a group of poor people who were wrongfully evicted from their residents. Michael goes back to his old law firm and steals the case file that shows that they were illegally kicked out. Then michael leaves his wife and starts helping out at a homeless shelter. He meets a lady named megan an they fall in love. The police arrest mike for stealing the case file. His new law firm headed by mordeceai defend him and threaten to sue Michael's old law firm for unlawfully kicking the homeless people out of the building.

Comparing drums to reading

For now on I will be keeping a drumming hour log along with my reading hour log. I expect to have my weekly drumming hours surpass my weekly reading hours with at least a ratio of 4:1. Goodbye.

Reading this week and John Dolmayan.

This week I read 1 hour total. I read for half an hour on friday during 5th block study hall. I was reading the sociology packet on affirmative action and stuff. Then AT home on sunday, which is today, I read special John Dolmayan drum magazine issue. He is the drummer of System of a Down, which is my second favorite band, behind Tool. They are on Hiatus right now and the issue was about his new band until system gets back together, Scars on Broadway. The guitarist of system of a down is the lead singer and guitarist in this band.

Inverted pyramid explanation

I do not know why all my spacing is all screwed up. I cant change it. This blog technology is acting up. It does not look like that before i post it. It just appears that way when i click- post. So nothing can be done about it. sorry for the inconvenience

Inverted Pyramid

They came, They Saw, They were conquered
Local High School students late night antics thwarted by police.

On september 23rd, five WLA students were pulled over for
supposed reckless drivingand by the end of the night, The driver
was given a fine for breaking GDL laws.
A week after Winnebago Lutheran Academy's homecoming, five
students decided to go out and toilet paper their teacher, Mr. Strusz.
They were given information that his place of residence was on
the corner of 16th and Iowa street.

The students proceeded to drive around the block to locate the house.
The only way to identify the house was to find Mr. Strusz's black Geo
Prizm car. They drove around trying to find the car.

After circling the block several times, some intoxicated neighbors got
angry. The neighbors ran after the car, and hit it with their hands.
The kids circled back around, and this time were greeted by the neighbors
in their car as well.

One of the neighbors got out of the car and got on the hood of the kids car.
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle tried to box in the kids. The kids backed
up and drove in reverse for one block, turned around, and got on to Highway 45.

They proceeded to head south on highway 45 towards Fond du Lac. The disgruntled
Neighbors followed the kids, and phoned the police. They told the police that the kids were
recklessly driving and tried to run one of them over. Soon thereafter, a State patrol pulled
the kids over.

The students explained what had happened and the officer believed them. They left the
scene with a GDL fine for the driver.

Incubus

My weekly band posting to give people new bands to listen to is about Incubus. Incubus are a bunch of really cool layed back guys who are really talented. They started back in the 90's and are now in their early 30's. They play really groovy music with catchy lyrics. They can also rock your socks off...not like lindsey...much more appropriately then lindsey's. They are a band that guys and girls will like unlike bands that are either only guy bands for the most part or girl bands for the most part. They have the rockin songs, the chill songs, and the love songs. They are unique because they have a DJ in their bands who does all kinds of crazy DJ scratching. One of the coolest things about Incubus is that they all live in the same house together and are all best friends. They each have their own bedrooms and they each get one recreational do-whatever- you-want-with-it rooms for themselves. They also have a music recording room, a pool, a little psychedelic bean-bag chair pot smoking room, and a Play Boy grotto. This is my Ideal life and living quarters. So check them out and see if you like them. You never know.

Well i Haven't read at all since my last post on thursday. I've been too busy doing crazy things. So my time is still 8 hours.

Thursday, January 29, 2009

About my reading time. I read for 8 hours total now, so if you wanted to know, now you know.

After school

After school before basketball games, the boy players always go to karens house and we all hang out there. well this week, she cant have people so they are goin to my bachelor pad. I think we are havin little caesers pizza.

Mr. strusz is crazy about mudvayne.

People who listen to music might know that mudvaynes new album came out in early december. They are a band that is very close to my heart. They used to be really hardcore but know they are more mature and they do just insane songs that touch your soul. I think that mr. strusz likes mudvayne, because everything he says is a mudvayne song. he was talking about the book scarlett letter and i said thats a mudvayne song. Then he asked us if we know what "Dig" is and I said- " that is a mudvayne song." I am going to do some undercover investigating and figure out why mr. strusz uses subliminal mudvayne messages in his lectures. good bye.

Street lawyer Continued

Sorry for not posting last week. I was on a yacht to jamaica. Last week and this week combined i read for 5 hours. the book is getting really crazy good. The lawyer main character found out that the homeless guy was squating in an abandoned building with a bunch of other homeless people. The owner came and told them to get out, because he wanted to use the building, and the main characters law firm was representing the building owner. This is why the homeless guy held them hostage. He was crazy mad.

Danny Carey Is the Best

If you know me well, you probably know that Tool is my favorite band. Actually you probably don't have to know me that well to know that. I am not here to talk about the band right now, but their drummer. Danny Carey to be more precise. Danny Carey is the greatest drummer of all time, as knowledgeable drummers will agree. There are many things that make people dislike a certain drummer. It might be that they play to sloppy, or they just fill every bit of space with as many notes as possible, or that they just sell themselves to anyone just to make money and their face is everywhere. Danny Carey fortunately does not fall under any of these categories. Carey is known for his flawless technique, his fluency to many types of music and drumming, and his uncanny skill of being able to play up to 4 rhythms at once, or play two different time signatures at once. Danny never plays to overbearing or out of place. In most bands that change time signatures constantly, there is a kind of robotic nature to the drumming, and it is very cluttered and in your face. Tool is a band that will play any time signature under the sun and do it in a way that blends so smoothly that comparing them to other time changing bands would be like comparing smooth creamy ice cream with a computer. It cant be done. Take tools song "Schism" for instance. The song, and i wouldn't lie to you, switches time signatures 47 times. switching between 11/8 and 15/8 and 6/8 and 5/4 to name a few. Carey makes drumming look so easy when you watch him, but any drummer who has tried to play Tool knows that they find themselves utterly embarrassed, realizing that they are going to need months of practice to get the song at least playable. Danny composes all his parts with geometry and his own beliefs that everything in life revolves around a circle, creating his circle theory of drumming. His drum set is set up with sacred geometry, with every part of it creating special geometrical shapes making movement around it very easy. In the late 90's, Danny grew anxious to learn new techniques and sounds for his drumming. He started learning Tabla, which is an indian drumming instrument that you use your fingers with. It resembles a bongo or other african drums. Tabla is basically like a second language for drummers. He mastered it and now uses it in tool songs. It is nearly impossible to ever be able to top danny's playing ability, because you would not only have to learn tabla, practically every time signature known to man, and develop flawless technique, but you would also have to be smarter than him, because his drum parts are all created with math, and geometry theories. Danny Carey is my drumming hero, and the most skilled drummer of all time.

My Books

Right now I am reading The Street Lawyer by John Grisham.  So far it is about a lawyer who works in a huge law firm and he arrives at work one day and is held hostage, along with other lawyers, by a homeless man.
